I have to say I am very concerned about Dundas Peak. Perhaps I am late to the game on this, and this may have been discussed before.
The amount of traffic, inconsiderate drivers, litter and garbage that has be strewn around leaves little to be desired.
I don't know who is behind all of the promotion of the peak, but it is getting destroyed. The fact that although I live around the corner from it, I need a reservation is disgusting. I know, and realize, this has been building for a while, and COVID certainly complicates things, but in my opinion the HCA cash grab to close it off and use reservations is against the local public interest.
If I'm way off base, I'm open to changing my mind, but from I have experienced and witnessed since it's been re-opened, it's pathetic.
This local treasure is now a token of some visitors instagram account, with no consideration of the local environment, and community. What a shame...

Tom, you are not off base. At all. And I don't know the extent to which things like the Peak or Webster's Falls are still being actively promoted by anything official, either the HCA Or city tourism, but the reality is that the beauty of those attractions sells itself. How do you balance the reality that people want access to this kind of nature, with the needs of local residents and the desire for all of us to be good neighbours and hosts? It would be great if some of the cash being generated came directly back into the community rather than overall HCA operations but, then again, perhaps the same could be said for its other main revenue generator: Wild Waterworks.
